Debanjan grew up in the small town of Jamshedpur, in the east of India with a love for paintings and computer science. After graduating in Animation Film Design programme from National Institute of Design, India, he entered the industry to work on films, advertisements, branding campaigns and gain experience across 2D and 3D animation. With the wish to hone his narrative skills, he joined the Directing Animation course at the National Film and Television School, UK. He has concentrated on honing his storytelling skills, developing character studies and enjoys directing and conceiving films with a truth in them. His graduation film, Chaaya has developed from his reflection on life set against the backdrop of his native town. Debanjan hopes to work on visual scripting in the commercial film industry and also plans to make his next film.
